What to Expect at Your First Meet & Greet with a Pet Sitter

Leaving your pet in someone else’s care is a big decision, and we believe you should feel completely comfortable before your first service. That’s why every new client at Barking Beau’s Pet Care receives a complimentary meet & greet.

Whether you’ve booked dog walking, drop-in visits, house sitting, or cat care, the meet & greet gives us an opportunity to get to know you, meet your pet, and learn exactly how we can provide the best possible care.

Here’s what you can expect.

Step 1: Complete Your New Client Request

Getting started is simple. Begin by completing our New Client Request through the Time To Pet portal.

Once we receive your information, we’ll review your request and contact you to schedule your complimentary meet & greet at a time that’s convenient for you.

This allows us to learn a little about your pet before we meet and helps ensure we have everything we need to make the process as smooth as possible.

Step 2: We’ll Meet You and Your Pet

Meet & greets typically last about 20–30 minutes and take place in your home, where your pet is most comfortable.

This visit isn’t just about us getting to know your pet. It’s also your opportunity to get to know us, ask questions, and feel confident about who will be caring for your furry family member.

Every pet is unique, and we want to understand what makes yours special.

Step 3: We’ll Learn Your Pet’s Routine

One of the biggest benefits of a meet & greet is learning your pet’s daily routine.

We’ll discuss things like:

  • Feeding schedules

  • Potty routines

  • Favorite walking routes

  • Medications or supplements

  • Treats and dietary restrictions

  • Favorite toys and activities

  • Sleeping arrangements

  • Commands your pet knows

  • Any fears, anxieties, or behaviors we should be aware of

The more we know, the more we can keep your pet’s routine consistent while you’re away.

Step 4: We’ll Go Over Your Home

If you’ve scheduled drop-in visits or house sitting, we’ll also review anything we need to provide safe, reliable care.

This may include:

  • How to enter your home

  • Alarm or security instructions

  • Where food, leashes, litter, or medications are kept

  • Emergency contact information

  • Veterinary information

  • Any other household instructions you’d like us to know

Our goal is to make sure there are no surprises when your scheduled service begins.

Step 5: Ask Us Anything

Choosing someone to care for your pet is an important decision, and we’re happy to answer any questions you have.

Many clients ask us about:

  • How we provide visit updates and photos

  • Scheduling and cancellations

What Happens After the Meet & Greet?

Once we’ve met you and your pet, we’ll finalize your client profile in Time To Pet.

When you’re ready to book services, simply submit your booking request through the client portal. We’ll confirm availability, send your invoice for review, and you’ll have 24 hours to review everything before your payment method on file is automatically charged. All services are paid before they begin unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

After that, all that’s left to do is enjoy your time away while we care for your pet.
