Our Story

A more personal approach to dog care in Raleigh

Barking Beau’s started with a simple idea: pet care should feel as comfortable and trustworthy as leaving your dog with family. As pet owners, we know how important that trust is.

After caring for pets for friends, neighbors, and through Rover, we saw the need for a more personal alternative to traditional boarding. Today, we provide small-group, in-home care focused on attention, routine, and a calm, comfortable environment where your dog can truly feel at home.

We’d love to care for your pup whenever you need us.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes — we do require a meet & greet before any first stay. It helps us make sure it’s a good fit and gives your dog a chance to get comfortable in a new environment.

  • You can submit a request through our website or client portal. From there, we’ll follow up to confirm details and schedule a meet & greet if needed.

  • We recommend bringing your dog’s food, any medications, and anything that helps them feel at home, like a bed, blanket, or toy.

  • All dogs must be up to date on Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. This helps us keep every dog in our care safe and healthy.

  • For the safety of all dogs, vaccinations must be current for boarding and daycare. If your dog isn’t able to receive certain vaccines, we may be able to offer alternatives like house sitting.

  • We keep a small group (typically no more than 6–7 dogs at a time) so each dog gets plenty of attention and care.

  • Yes. We provide regular updates, including photos and notes, so you can feel confident your dog is happy and well cared for.

  • At this time, we do not accept puppies or unneutered dogs for boarding or daycare.

  • If a dog isn’t the right fit for a group environment, we’ll let you know. In some cases, we may recommend alternatives like house sitting to make sure your dog is as comfortable as possible.

  • Boarding is based on a noon-to-noon schedule. Extended stays beyond that may be subject to a daycare or late pickup fee.
